- Tasting Notes
A fireworks-in-a-glass nose is strikingly spicy with its gorgeously layered aromas of lilac, plum, violet and exotic tea scents. The vibrant and intensely mineral-infused medium weight flavors are delicious if edgy and the edginess continues onto the and again slightly drying finish. This is classy on the mid-palate but the balance is less than ideal and as such, I would not be inclined to cellar this for more than a few years.

The 2013 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru les Amoureuses has a pastille-like purity on the nose that gently unfolds in the glass: raspberry preserve, wild strawberry, forest floor and a touch of autumn leaves. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, crisp acidity, quite lithe in the mouth, with an elegant long finish that exudes both the terroir and Pinot Noir. I wonder if this will match the fantastic 2011 once in bottle?
