- Tasting Notes
A vaguely exotic nose reflects notes of lychee, white peach and mandarin orange on the overtly floral-scented aromas. There is a lovely sense of energy to the big-bodied and overtly powerful flavors that evidence plenty of minerality on the mildly austere, clean and relatively dry finale. This isn’t classically styled but it should drink well young and age well too over the mid-term.

The 2015 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, under the Domaine du Pavillon label, has a soft, slightly muffled bouquet of apricot blossom, lime and a touch of acacia. The palate is medium-bodied with a viscous opening, moderate weight in the mouth, but it feels a little simplistic towards the linear finish, needs more weight and “gras” character to come through. Let’s see how it performs once in bottle.
