- Tasting Notes
Ausone’s second wine, the 2007 Chapelle d-Ausone, is a delicious, crisp, crunchy effort revealing lots of minerality along with raspberry and black cherry characteristics, a supple texture, and delicious flavors similar to its more famous sibling.
– Robert M. Parker, Jr., Robertparker.com, Score: 89
Good deep color. Aromas and flavors of black fruits and minerals, lifted by spices and violet. Still a bit reduced but offers lovely sweetness of fruit and vivacity for the year. Finishes with very good cut and length. A terrific second wine, nicely rounded out by the addition of press wine.
– Stephen Tanzer, Vinous.com, Score: 87-90
Sweet berry and floral aromas follow through to a medium body, with fine tannins and a caressing finish. A pretty second wine in this vintage. Best after 2011. 710 cases made.
