- Tasting Notes
A subtle hint of wood combines with bright and very pretty yet youthfully unevolved red berry fruit and underbrush hints that precede supple, elegant, refined and round medium full flavors that display a discreet mineral streak on the surprisingly refined and focused finish that oozes class and sophistication. Chapelle can be quite fine in certain hands, especially when it’s from Chapelle proper as this lovely example is.

Good deep red-ruby. Superripe aromas of dark raspberry, roast coffee and gunflint. Silky and lush but with a firm spine of minerality underneath. Pliant but not especially sweet, and not really revealing itself yet. Finishes with a strong smoky minerality. This will need patience.

Ample fruit, flesh and a silky texture highlight this impressive red. Ripe cherry and bilberry are accented with licorice, spice and mineral as this lingers on the complex aftertaste. There’s terrific harmony and energy. Best from 2012 through 2022. 234 cases made.
