- Tasting Notes
A background touch of wood does not detract from the somber dark berry fruit nose that also displays notes of humus, earth and the sauvage. The lively and precise medium-bodied flavors exude a discreet minerality that adds a sense of lift to the more harmonious and more structured finale. This isn’t super dense but the balance is clearly better.
– Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, Score: 89-92
The 2014 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru, as usual a blend of Crepiots and la Perrière, has a tightly wound bouquet with light blackberry and briary scents. This is clearly a level up from the village cru. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, fine acidity, quite elegant and smooth towards the raspberry and strawberry finish that just needs a little more density.
– Neal Martin, Robertparker.com, Score: 87-89
