- Tasting Notes
A phenolic nose (think olive oil characters) of overtly ripe and spicy, white peach and yellow orchard fruit aromas that border on the exotic is trimmed in subtle wood nuances. There is impressive density to the muscular and powerful broad-shouldered flavors that display a very rich and round palate impression before terminating in a mouth coating and solidly long finish that is shaped by citrus-tinged acidity.

Pale, bright yellow. Musky ripe peach and noble herbs on the nose; this wine is actually the highest in volatile acidity of the range, but still a fairly low 0.4 grams per liter. Fat, sweet and large-scaled but without the precision of the Clos de la Mouchère. Finishes salty and a touch dry. This may be a bit less fresh because I tasted it from a 228-liter barrique, rather than from a larger barrel.
