- Tasting Notes
The 2015 La Violette is medium to deep garnet-purple with fragrant scents of potpourri, dried lavender, bouquet garni and cigar boxes over a core of warm plums, blueberry compote and cassis plus a waft of underbrush. Full-bodied, rich and opulent in the mouth and packed with black fruit and spice layers, it’s framed with a firm yet velvety structure and oodles of freshness, finishing long.

The 2015 La Violette is superb. Silky and expressive, with fabulous aromatic presence, La Violette is all finesse. Inky blue/purplish fruit tones open into hints of sweet tobacco, new leather and licorice. The 2015 is at once supple and also light on its feet, with superb balance and an inviting personality that will be virtually impossible to resist for those lucky enough to own a few bottles.

Very attractive and vibrant purple berries, dark cherries, blueberries, fresh earth and violets on the nose. This is a pretty wine with real purpose. The palate delivers a sleeve of perfectly ripe dark-plum and blueberry flavors and makes a deep-set impression via succulent, lustrous tannins that roll smooth and deep. Fresh, earthy finish. Superb wine. Try from 2024.

Fresh raspberry and red currant coulis notes stream through, tilting toward the racier side of the spectrum, picking up rooibos tea, blood orange, incense and mulled anise accents along the way. Singed vanilla details underscore the finish and add a flashy component. Best from 2020 through 2030. 333 cases made.
