- Tasting Notes
This also displays some floral character though not quite to the same extent while also offering up notes of spice, earth and red currant aromas. There is a silky mouth feel to the energetic and well-detailed flavors that exhibit a bit less minerality than the Haut Doix before terminating in a seductively textured, firm and persistent finish.
– Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, Score: 90-92
The 2011 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes has a reticent nose, perhaps reflecting the cold clay soils that seem to just dampen the aromatics a little at this early stage. The palate has a confident opening with crisp raspberry and cranberry fruit. There is more finesse than implied by the nose, though it just needs a little more persistency toward the finish.
– Neal Martin, Robertparker.com, Score: 88-90
Medium red. Reticent nose offers scents of cherry, crushed stone and licorice accented by pepper and spices. Juicy and aromatic in the mouth, but showing limited flesh today to its complex flavors of red berries, menthol, spices and pepper. Finishes a bit aggressive and youthfully imploded, but with excellent energy and a piquant note of blood orange. Currently disjointed and in need of further elevage, which it will surely receive in this cellar. Conveys an impression of moderate ripeness.
