- Tasting Notes
An elegant, pure and ripe nose features notes of spice, mint and honeysuckle while introducing relatively big, rich, intense, sappy, delicious and wonderfully complex flavors that are still quite fresh and sweet while completely coating and staining the palate. There is excellent precision with lovely finishing intensity and about the only aspect that one might wish for more is the persistence but otherwise, this is is a classic Bienvenues. This could easily be enjoyed now or cellared for another 2 to 4 years first. Note that another recent bottle was slightly advanced, probably due to a touch of premature oxidation.

Perfumed aromas of lime blossom and mint, with a suggestion of exotic fruits. Juicy, penetrating and precise, if somewhat dominated by its structure today. This, too, shows terrific finesse but there’s also plenty of underlying density.

A terrific ’02 white, silky, concentrated, vibrant and dynamic. It’s full-bodied yet well-toned, unleashing its peach, floral, hazelnut and tobacco notes in layers. Firmly structured and beautifully integrated with the oak, with a long butterscotch aftertaste and the promise of more over time. Best from 2006 through 2015. 175 cases made.
