The 2012 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Baudes comes from a single 0.31-hectare parcel that was planted in 1980. It has a deep purple color. The nose is very intense with blackberry, cassis and spice aromas – quite a feisty, precocious bouquet here. Conversely, the palate is firm, masculine and structured. It is quite introspective at the moment with an austere finish: a Chambolle worth tucking away for 5-6 years.

– Neal Martin,, Score: 90-92

Healthy dark red. Superripe black cherry, blueberry and menthol on the nose. Rich, creamy and sweet, in a rather powerful style for this cuvée, but with a medicinal minerality energizing the mid-plate. Finishes with substantial but suave tannins that will require patience.
